Rather a long time since I last posted on here isn’t it?
Lots of things have been going on since then. I’ve got a full time job working for a financial institution in Cardiff. TG is working in the Royal Glamorgan hospital. We’ve got a nice 2 bed house. We are moving to a slightly odd, but very nice flat soon. We’ve just applied for it.
Joint wise things are going pretty well. I’m holding up ok, but am walking a fine line atm. There isn’t much I can do about that really. I’m going to look into a few ways of strengthening my wrists tho. That should help. I also need to get a nice new keyboard. This current Apple keyboard is crap. I’ll do a review of that later.
Well I managed to get shin splints this time. The ache on the front of my shin went into crippling pain today. Well not quite crippling, but I’ve hurt it. I’m going to take a few days off to let it heal and then spend a few days. Then once better a few days of stretches and warm-ups are in order. Then a run.
Well here begins my quest to get a bit fitter. I’d really like to loose about a stone and get back down to my ‘fighting’ weight, of around 12 1/2 – 13 stone. Or if I feel really ambitious down to 11 stone and then train up to 12 stone. But I can’t see that happening.
The whole thing really bloody hurt. Especially my shins. I reckon there must be a muscle down the front of my shin. I managed to run about a mile to the next village and then walked a mile back. No idea how long I took. I’ll time it next time.
I bought the shoe from Run and Become in Cardiff. The shoe is an Asics Foundation, £70 normally, £50 in the sale. Quite an invloved process sorting out what shoe is best for you as well. Hope it is worth it.
I’ve got a bit of a hankering for a Sun Ultra 60, as well as my desk hankering. Much cheaper than my wish for a iBook of some description. unixnerd sells Sun and HP workstations second hand. There is some very nice kit on there, wish I actually had some cash atm to buy one.
Wow, this is old. I’m doubting I’ll ever buy one of these, despite the niceness of them. If I was single, I probably would. But then I’d have a few more PCs than I currently have. I’ve got 2 as it stands. 3 when I build a mythTV box. I’m pretty much sticking with Windows these days, because it is the only platform voice recognition works on and familiarity. Lame I know, but it seems to be going that way.
